Elgin played at Elk City Friday night and was short of a win.   While Elgin started the game out strong scoring the only touchdown the first quarter.  Elk City came back second quarter putting three touchdowns on the board, making the score 21 Elk City to Elgin’s 6.  After the halftime show, Elgin came back strong and kept the score per quarter pretty even.  Putting 6 on the board 3rd quarter, while Elk City only put 7 on the board during the same quarter.   4th quarter, Elgin was able to put another score on the board, while Elk City put 10 up with a touchdown and a field goal.   This left us at the end of the game Elgin 18, Elk City 38.  Overall the second quarter was the one quarter that made a huge difference overall, and we are anxious to see what happens this week against our Rival Cache Football.

Coach Cunningham and his coaching staff are working diligently to get the young men where they need to be to be competitive, but it takes the boys attention to detail, talent and skills to make the change.   Cache is coming to Elgin this week with a record of 4-0 playing some tough teams.  Cache has had high scoring games, 56-13 against Chickasha, 64-0  against Western Heights, 26-12 against Blanchard, and 28-7 against Lone Grove.  Elgin will most certainly do some changes and prepare for Cache as they enter the Nest!
