More than three decades will be celebrated March 17th 2017, at the Oklahoma City St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This beloved Irish holiday is celebrated with an out of this world parade that goes through the heart of downtown Oklahoma City, bringing with it the thrilling sounds of traditional Irish music, the collective purr of motorcycles in formation and the joyous exclamations of parade participants playing to the crowd. Join the thousands of spectators that line the streets of downtown each year, bring a lawn chair and spend the day listening to upbeat Irish songs and cheering on Irish step dancers as they whirl past. The Oklahoma City St. Patrick’s Day Parade runs from 1-3 pm. After taking in the sights of the parade, in Bricktown there will be the annual Saint Patrick’s day block party to show the spectators a great time. To continue the party, by heading deeper into the Bricktown Entertainment District, held outdoors on the corner of Sheridan and Oklahoma Avenue, this celebration invites everyone to enjoy continuous live music by a variety of performers and local musicians on the main entertainment stage with mugs of green beer or soft drinks in-hand. Grab strings of green beads, a festive hat and a themed t-shirt before popping in and out of the popular restaurants and bars that line this lively district. Popular nearby hangouts include the Bricktown Brewery and TapWerks, as well as McNellie’s, located in the nearby Midtown district. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
