Late Score Costs Owls Against Marlow

Owls lost the lead late in a 14-4 defeat to Marlow on Monday. The game was tied at three with Marlow batting in the top of the sixth when. The Owls struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Marlow, giving up 14 runs. In the first inning, Marlow got their offense started when Davis lined out, driving in a run. Owls knotted the game up at three in the bottom of the fourth inning. Braeden Shacklefordsingled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. Bergner toed the rubber for Marlow. He lasted three innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out three. Jake Meents toed the rubber for Owls. He lasted two innings, allowing four hits and three runs.Braeden MorelandDawson DudarkShackleford, and Lance Bianchini each entered the game as relief, throwing two innings, one inning, two-thirds of an inning, and one-third of an inning respectively. Owls tallied seven hits. Meents and Shackleford all collected multiple hits for OwlsShacklefordand Meents each collected two hits to lead Owls.  Marlow totaled 13 hits. Davis and Bergner each managed multiple hits for Marlow. Davis led Marlow with three hits in four at bats.
