Owls defeated Madill 9-1 on Thursday thanks to five runs in the first inning. The offensive firepower by Owls was led by Jake Meents, Jaken Snider, Lance Bianchini, and Braeden Shackleford, all driving in runs in the frame. Owls got things moving in the first inning, when Meents doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Snider got the start for Owls. He went seven innings, allowing one run on eight hits, striking out 14 and walking one. Devon Chapq was on the mound for Madill. He lasted one inning, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out two and walking zero. Ethan Nixon threw five innings out of the bullpen. Owls racked up ten hits on the day. Meents, Bianchini, and Snider each had multiple hits for Owls. Meents went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Owls in hits. Owls didn’t commit a single error in the field. Trevor Bianchini had 16 chances in the field, the most on the team. Madill racked up eight hits in the game. Nash Matlack, Case Cable, and Nixon each managed multiple hits for Madill.
