Christmas Boxes

Lend a helping hand. Help kids in need. Join NHS in filling Christmas boxes for needy children. Each box will include things like fun toys, hygiene items, and more things they need and could play with.We will buy the boxes that we’ll use to send the things out. The boxes can not contain toothbrushes or any liquids. The boxes will be sent all around to some foreign countries. The boxes can also include shoes or anything kids might need like school supplies. The boxes will be due November 14th. See Mrs.Rucker or Valerie Cruz for details.

FCCLA Competitive Events

Attention all FCCLA members this Thursday, December, 7th are the competitive events. These events will take place at the Chisholm Trails Church of Christ in Duncan, OK. The registration deadline is November 20th. Some of the events happening there will be cake decorating, career investigation, creed speaking, children’s lit, illustrated talk, job interviews, and life event planning. You will get a chance to try any of theses activities hands on. If interested make sure you sign up before the due date and have fun.



cinnamon Rolls

1/4 cup butter,divided
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons white sugar 
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter,softened
3/4 cup milk
1 egg

1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

cream cheese frosting
1 cup confectioners sugar
4 ounces cream cheese,softened 
1/4 cup butter,softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Brush a 9-inch square baking dish with 2 tablespoons melted butter.
  2. Whisk flour, 2 tablespoons white sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl. Work 3 tablespoons softened butter into flour mixture using your hands. Beat milk and egg together in another bowl; pour into flour-butter mixture and stir with a rubber spatula until a soft dough forms.
  3. Turn dough out onto a floured work surface and roll dough into a 1/4-inch thick rectangle. Brush surface of dough with 2 tablespoons melted butter.
  4. Whisk 1/2 cup white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon together in a small bowl. Sprinkle 1/2 of the cinnamon sugar mixture in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar over butter-brushed dough. Roll dough around filling to form a log; cut log into 18 rolls and place rolls in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until rolls are set, 20 to 25 minutes.
  6. Beat confectioners’ sugar, cream cheese, 1/4 cup softened butter, and vanilla extract together in a bowl until frosting is smooth. Top hot cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting.

Monster Chalk Art Festival

The Monster Chalk Art Festival is this Wednesday, October 4, 2017. At Anadarko High School. We will be meeting at 8:05 am in front of the school we leave the high school at 8:15am. Lunch is from 12:15 – 1:00pm awards are at 1:15pm. You will need to pay the 10 dollar fee per team and bring money for lunch. We return at 3:00pm. Bring chalk and supplies you may bring drinks and snacks. Be prepared to work hard and have fun! Remember we represent Elgin Schools all school and dress code rules apply while we are on school trips. Deadline for turning in the permission slips is Thursday, September 28.Get permission slips from Mrs.Crittendon.


No School!


On September 22, 2017 there will be no school due to parent teacher conferences. If you need to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher call the school to have one scheduled. 580-492-3670 for high school, (580) 492-3655 for 5th grade, (580) 492-3656 for 6th grade, (580) 492-3657 for 7th and 8th grade, and 580-492-3663 for elementary. If you are logged into the school website you should get a reminder or a notification letting you know if your child had a parent teacher conference. Just because your child has one does not mean they’re doing bad, not all of the conferences and required for you to go.

Burger Bash

Elgin owls Basketball boys and girls team are selling burger bash tickets.The cost is five dollars it includes burger,chips,and drink.On Friday,October 6th starting at 5:30pm. At the high school student parking lot. Come out and help the basketball team sell all there tickets the money goes towards the equipment they need like shoes and socks.IMG_1215
