On Friday, April 28th Bicentennial Park will be hosting six-day community celebration of the visual, culinary and performing arts. There will be over 140 artists from across the nation with a large-scale Sculpture Park. This art festival is famous for its Food Row, sample delicious ethnic food or stay with tried-and-true festival favorites. Foods from scrumptious Indian tacos to heaping platters of Brazilian food and Mexican. Nearly 300 entertainers of all ages will donate their performances at the Festival of the Arts. The event starts at 11:00am.

Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday April 15th, the Town Hall in Slick, Oklahoma will be hosting an easter egg hunt for those of any age, bring out the family and enjoy an extra special egg hunt. Each year hundreds of eggs are hidden about the area for the kids to find. The egg hunt will start at 11am sharp so arrive early so you can be prepared. The weather for Saturday’s event will be cloudy and have a high of 79 so dress weather appropriately.

5k Bubble Run

IMG_2671.JPGOn March, 25th Lawton High will be hosting the 2nd Annual Stride 4 Shelter for their Key Club. All funds raised for Lawton Public School’s McKinney-Vento Program for 750 students that range from pre-k through 12th grade. The Mckinney-Vento program ensures that immediate enrollment and educational stability for homeless children and youth.

Underground Monster Carnival


On March 4 there will be a convention for an old themed carnival. There will be prizes, costume contest, special exhibits, fun work shops, and a lot more. The event will start at 1pm and end at 9pm. This event is kid friendly and accepts all who want to come. It will be held at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds at the Hobby, Arts and Crafts building.

Painting For A Purpose

United Way of Southwest Oklahoma plans to hold a painting and wine event, ladies will meet up at the Trophy Room for a fun night out and to be supportive of UWSWOK. On Thursday, February 16 Stephanie Griggs will lead the group through steps on how to create a painting entitled “Love Arrows.” The Painting for a purpose will start at 6pm-9pm, they will have refreshments, you must reserve your seat if you plan on going. There will be door prizes and a silent auction will be available. At this event you will have a chance to interact with our generous donors, share goals and missions of the organization, enjoy a fun ‘girls night,’ and raise money to help make an impact on the community.
