Juneteenth Festival


On Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Lawton, OK there will be a Juneteenth Festival. The Juneteenth Festival is celebrating the end of slavery. The celebrations go all the way back to June 19, 1865. There will be food, music, activities, games, and entertainment. This event is for all ages and is free. There will be an opening ceremony at 3:30 pm and will end around 8:00 pm. The opening ceremony will be at 102 NE Gore Boulevard in  Lawton, OK and the entertainment will be at Douglass Park/Patterson Center #4 NE Arlington in Lawton, OK. Movie at Library


On Thursday, June 7, 2018 Lawton Public Library will be showing the movie ‘Sing’.

The movie will start 2:00 p.m. and will end around 3:30 p.m.

This event is for all ages so feel free to come down and watch at the Lawton Public Library at 110 sw 4th street.

Coffee with cops


On Saturday April 14th, 2018 at McDonald’s you can have a cup of coffee with police officers.

This event will start at 9:30 a.m. and will end at 11:00 a.m. 

So have a seat and start a conversation with a cop or maybe discuss issues you have just get to know each other.  Come on down to McDonald’s and have a cup of coffee with a police officer.

Teen Movie Night


On April 3, 2018 Lawton Public Library will be showing the movie Wonder.

Wonder is a story that tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time.

The movie will start at 5:00 pm and will end at 7:00 pm.

Goldilocks and the Three Pigs


On Thursday, March 8, 2018 at  McMahon Memorial Auditorium they will be holding a public performance of Goldilocks and the Three Pigs. Tickets are $5.00 but for children 2 years or younger it is free. Tickets are still available for the 6:30 pm show. McMahon Memorial Auditorium ticket office is located at the auditorium’s west entrance. The ticket office hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 12noon and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Elgin High School Lip Sync Battle


On March 31, 2018 drama is hosting a lip sync battle. Open to everyone who wants to compete, the first 20 teams are allowed to compete. Registration and music must be turned in on or before March 9, 2018 3:30 pm to Coach Ramos in room 13, music on a flash drive or CD. Registration fee is $25.00 (per team/act). Fee is non refundable, must be clean version of music. Team 1 to 8 people. Teams will be notified by March 16, 2018. For registration see Coach Ramos.

Valentine’s Sweetheart Special


On February 14, 2018 Twin Oaks Bowling Alley will be letting couples and friends bowl for two hours with a two meal combo from the Strike Zone. Each couple will have a chance to win a giant teddy bear and a box of chocolates. More than one couple can bowl on one lane so bring friends. It is $35 per couple.
